The Dukh Bhanjani paath is a collection of hymns, known as shabads, composed by Guru Arjan Dev, the fifth Sikh Guru. These shabads are arranged in three raags - Raga Gauri, Raga Bilaval, and Raga Sorath.

Sikhs perform this paath as a means to alleviate any hardships or ailments they may be experiencing.

The term "dukh" refers to a hardship or suffering that causes pain, while "bhanjani" means destroyer or crusher. Thus, the phrase "dukh bhanjani" translates to "Destroyer of Pain."

Each shabad in this composition has been carefully selected with the aim of achieving this goal. This bani is named after the Shri Dukh Bhanjani Beri, a tree located near the sacred pool in Amritsar.
